A House

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I thought I would post this on the last day of 2009. This is the most recent work that I’ve done. It’s a two point perspective pencil drawing of a house. I did this for a friend. This was done traditionally and not on the computer. I’ve learned a couple things from doing this:

  • It’s very good to have photo references when doing a drawing. In this case I had an excellent array of photos to look at.
  • I really need to more perspective drawings. It took me way too long to figure out the perspective in this one.
  • Always do your math right when starting a picture. I had to do this one at least two times before I got it right.

But, I really like this one. It was a lot of fun to do, and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by and looking. I believe wordpress said this blog has had over 4,000 hits since I’ve started it. So thank you to whoever is visiting this site.

Also, I have to say that 2009 was AWESOME! I have one more year at SLCC, and then I can move on to something more exciting. I was thinking about going to the animation program at BYU or another art school somewhere.  I hope everyone had an excellent 2009!

P.S. On a side note, the movie Avatar was EXCELLENT!! I liked it! 🙂
